Yesterday, the MLB Network replayed Kerry Wood’s 20-strikeout game against the Houston Astros in 1998. I have been watching baseball for almost 25 years and in my opinion, that was most dominating regular season performance I have ever seen.The Astros didn’t have a chance that day.Flash forward 11 years later and Wood is still throwing 97 mph in the major leagues. Did he become the pitcher everyone thought he would be after watching him pitch in 1998 No he didn’t.But Wood has made a very nice career for himself.
